A grey 2025 Ford Ranger Raptor driving on a mountain trail.

If you’re looking for a pickup truck from a Ford dealer near Peoria, you can find more models than ever right now here at our dealership. The big ones have tremendous power and can almost literally move mountains. But what if you don’t want something huge that drives like a tank and requires a ladder to get into? That’s when it is time to think about a midsize truck, and the 2025 Ford Ranger is one of the best. This versatile vehicle makes an excellent daily driver, has fantastic towing and hauling ability, and can even be taken out on rugged terrain. Let’s learn more about this terrific truck and why you will want to visit us to check it out.

Exceptional Power and Performance

You are going to have a lot of fun in your Ranger. Under the hood of the base model is a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. If those numbers don’t do it for you, there is a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that puts out 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. There’s also another powertrain with even more muscle, but we’ll get to that later. Unlike many of those large full-size trucks, the Ranger has excellent handling, and it always stays composed through sharp turns and curves. Even if you drive on some of the less-than-perfect roadways around Peoria, it will still give you a smooth ride.

Fantastic Towing and Hauling Capability

Just because the Ranger is a smaller truck doesn’t mean that it is a slouch in the workhorse department. You will be very pleased with what this truck can do, as it has a tow rating of 7,500 lbs when equipped with the Trailer Tow Package. This includes a four-pin/seven-pin wiring harness and Class IV trailer hitch receiver. If you plan to do a lot of towing, you may want to opt for the Advanced Towing Package, which comes with Pro-Trailer Backup Assist and a trailer brake controller. The Ranger also offers a lot of room in the back for whatever you need to load it up with. The five-foot bed provides 43.5 cu.ft. of cargo space, and the Ranger has a maximum payload of 1,805 lbs.

Off-Road Prowess

Practical features aside, the Ranger is ready to have some fun, even when the pavement ends. If you want a truck eager to hit the dirt, go with the Raptor trim. This option comes with a burly twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that pumps out 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard, as are electronic-locking front and rear axles, 2.5-inch FOX Live Valve Shocks, steel front and rear bumpers, and rear tow hooks all help to round out the package. Ford Trail Control is also included, and this will automatically adjust acceleration and braking depending on the terrain you are navigating.

Lots of Interior Space

If you have to spend long stretches of time behind the wheel, you need a truck that will help keep you comfortable. And, if this will be a family vehicle, it has to have a lot of space. In these two areas, the Ranger shines. Both rows in this truck are spacious, and five people can fit comfortably. Plus, the legroom and headroom are excellent throughout, so even taller passengers won’t feel cramped. The seats are supportive and well-cushioned and come with cloth upholstery. You can opt for several upgrades to enhance your comfort, including power-adjustable and heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a heated steering wheel. In addition to all of the cargo room that the bed provides, inside the cab, there is a storage area under the back seats. Plus, the rear seats can be folded completely flat to provide more space for your stuff.

State-of-the-Art Tech Features

Another reason why you are going to love spending time in your Ranger is because it will help keep you connected and entertained no matter where you go. Multiple USB ports, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a six-speaker stereo are all standard. The infotainment system is easy to use and is controlled by a standard 10-inch touchscreen. Every trim has remote keyless entry and includes a remote tailgate lock. Here’s another nifty feature: There’s a zone-lighting component that provides illumination on the outside of the truck if you need to light up the night for things like setting up a campsite. Several other features can be added as well, such as HD and satellite radio, an in-dash navigation system, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo, and wireless device charging.

Standard Driver Assist Systems

The 2025 Ford Ranger will help keep you and your passengers protected when driving around Peoria. In addition to a rearview camera, it comes with a large selection of standard driver assist systems, including:

  • Pre-Collision Assist: By using forward-facing sensors, your truck can detect objects in your path, including both vehicles and pedestrians. If a collision is possible, it sends out a warning.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking: If you don’t quickly respond to that warning, the Ranger can apply the brakes for you and bring itself to a complete stop.
  • Driver Alert System: If you regularly drive late at night, you may appreciate this feature. Your truck will monitor how you drive, and if it detects erratic behavior that could be related to fatigue, you will get a warning.
  • Automatic High Beams: This system will also help you at night. It automatically turns your high beams off when it detects oncoming traffic, reducing your workload.

Available Driver Assist Features

Upper trims of the Ranger come with a variety of additional protection features, including adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and:

  • Lane-Keeping System: With cameras, your truck can detect markings on the road. If you start drifting inadvertently, it will alert you visually and audibly. If you don’t heed that warning immediately, your Ranger can guide itself back to where it should be.
  • Front and Rear Parking Sensors: Parking—especially in tight spots—can be a little tricky. Fortunately, these ultrasonic sensors will let you know if you are getting too close to an object.
  • Cross-Traffic Alert: This feature will help when backing out of tight spaces. It utilizes radars to let you know if any vehicles are approaching from either direction and if it is safe to proceed.
  • Blind Spot Information System: If you do a lot of driving on I-74, you will appreciate this technology. Lights in your side mirrors will help you remain aware of any cars in your blind spots without having to continually crane your neck.
