Our History
Roanoke Ford is one of several dealerships owned by Matt Gastman. Our dealership joined the Gastman family lineup in 2016, but our legacy began long before we opened our doors and decades before Matt joined the business. Our story started in the mid-1950s when Mel Rocke purchased Roanoke Motors in 1956.
Roanoke Motors became a cornerstone of the community, treating area drivers to a rewarding and enjoyable car-buying experience. During these formative years, John Gastman joined the business, first working in the wash rack and eventually learning the ins and outs of the dealership in various roles. By the 1980s, John bought into the dealership, officially launching the Gastman family legacy. Years later, he welcomed his son, Matt, into the fold.
With Matt buying into the business in the new millennium, John eventually retired and handed the reins over to his son. In the years since then, Matt has expanded the family legacy by adding Roanoke Ford in 2016 and Lincoln Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in 2021. With a family of dealerships, it’s only fitting that Roanoke Ford and our other franchises continue a legacy of welcoming every customer into the family and treating them to a unique and rewarding dealership experience.
