Vehicles for the Weekend Warrior

Ford F‑150: Built for Everyday Load and Road Resilience

The Ford F-150 doesn’t just show up—it shows off. Built like it’s got something to prove (and spoiler: it doesn’t), this truck has earned its reputation for toughness, towing muscle, and all-around grit. If your weekends involve chasing sunrises, hauling toys, or veering off the map just to see where the road goes, the F-150 is your kind of ride. Bikes, tents, kayaks—toss them in and go. This truck doesn’t flinch.

What makes the F-150 even better? It’s a shapeshifter. Different bed lengths, cab styles, and drivetrain options mean you’re not stuck with a one-size-fits-all setup. You can go practical, plush, or somewhere in between.

Even with a full load, the ride stays calm, the handling stays sharp, and the interior keeps things comfortable, so you won’t feel like you’ve been wrestling a bear by the time you hit your destination.

The best part? It’s always ready. Whether you’re a planner with a packed itinerary or the type to grab your keys and figure it out later, the F-150 is down. Rain, gravel, dirt, pavement—bring it on. This isn’t just a truck. It’s the four-wheeled version of “Let’s do something fun.”

Ford Maverick: Smart, Compact, and Fuel‑Friendly

The Ford Maverick is the truck that laughs in the face of “you can’t have it all.” Small but mighty, it offers serious utility without hogging space or gas. The Maverick checks all the right boxes for drivers who like to mix things up on the weekends without driving something the size of a city block.

It’s bed may be compact, but it’s a champ when it comes to hauling gear for a last-minute road trip, a DIY supply run, or a spontaneous escape from the daily grind. The design is clever and efficient, with features that make sense—like tie-downs where you need them and a tailgate that does more than just look pretty. Parking? A breeze. Loading up for your next mini-adventure? Even easier.

And let’s talk fuel economy—because stretching your dollar should be just as satisfying as stretching your legs on a weekend escape. With hybrid and gas-powered versions, the Maverick keeps ownership costs low and flexibility high. It’s the kind of truck that fits your lifestyle without trying too hard. No drama, just a practical partner that’s down for whatever you’re dreaming up next.

Bronco Sport: Elevated Style Meets Everyday Utility

The Bronco Sport is like that friend who’s always up for an adventure but never needs a spotlight. It’s just-right ride height and available all-wheel drive give you the confidence of an SUV without the clunky, oversized feel. It zips through town like it owns the road, then casually tackles dirt, snow, or whatever weird weather the weekend throws at you.

Don’t let the compact size fool you—this SUV is a packing pro. The cargo area is cleverly laid out to handle grocery runs, hiking gear, folding chairs, or half your belongings if you’re the over-prepared type. The Bronco Sport is all about flexibility, whether you’re out for an early morning coffee or an afternoon drive with the windows down.

It’s that perfect middle ground between rugged and refined. Smooth enough for your daily drive, capable enough when things get messy, and practical enough to fit into whatever your version of “fun” looks like. No drama, no fuss—just an SUV ready when you are.

Ford Fusion & Similar Sedans: Quiet Comfort and Mileage

Used sedans like the Ford Fusion prove you don’t need a giant vehicle to get comfort, efficiency, and a great drive all in one. With responsive handling and a balanced ride, the Fusion keeps things smooth no matter where your day takes you. It’s the kind of car that makes everyday driving feel a little more polished, even if you’re heading out for groceries or running late on a Monday.

Fuel economy is another area where the Fusion quietly shines. Whether commuting or road-tripping, you’ll spend more time enjoying the drive and less time searching for gas stations. That makes it a great choice for folks who love getting out of town without emptying their wallets. Bonus: fewer stops mean more time doing what you want to do.

Then there’s the space. The trunk swallows luggage, coolers, shopping bags—whatever you throw at it—and still leaves room to spare. Inside, the seating is supportive and thoughtfully laid out, so passengers can settle in without feeling cramped. Long stretches of road? Bring them on.

But what really seals the deal is how well the Fusion holds up over time. It’s one of those sedans that quietly racks up the miles while staying comfortable, capable, and reliable. If you’re after a car that knows how to keep things simple—and enjoyable—the Fusion keeps proving why it’s a fan favorite.

Additional SUV Picks: Roomy Yet Manageable

Compact SUVs like the Ford Escape or midsize SUVs like the Ford Explorer hit the sweet spot between space and simplicity. They offer extra room for passengers or cargo without feeling bulky or hard to manage. Whether you’re loading up for a weekend escape or juggling everyone’s gear for a day out, these SUVs make it easy to pack what you need and still enjoy a smooth, confident ride.

Drivers love how the extra interior space feels, thoughtfully designed rather than excessive. There’s room for coolers, hiking bags, or a few extra friends, without sacrificing comfort or drivability. As life shifts and schedules get busier, these SUVs stay practical, flexible, and refreshingly straightforward.

Round-Up for the Weekend

Around here, vehicles need to do more than look good in a parking lot. That’s why our used inventory includes a mix of sedans, SUVs, and trucks built to keep up with whatever life throws on the calendar. From early-morning coffee runs to unexpected weekend road trips, these models bring the kind of reliability that makes planning optional.

We focus on vehicles that hold up well over time, offering comfort, cargo space, and capability without overcomplicating the drive. Whether you’re the type to tackle a to-do list or just want something ready for a quick change of plans, there’s something here with your name on it. It’s all about flexibility without the fuss.

And while every vehicle has a practical side, each one also brings a little freedom to explore what’s around you. With strong engines, smooth handling, and smart features that make everyday driving more enjoyable, they’re made to help you go farther, whether that means a new back road or just taking the long way home.

Looking for high-quality used trucks for sale near Eureka can be intimidating. How do you know where to shop? What brands have a reputation for longevity? Where can you find a truck that fits your needs and your budget? What do you look for so that you know you’re not buying a lemon? What sort of truck do you need?

These and other questions may add to the stress you feel over needing to purchase a truck, but that’s why there’s helpful information gathered here to make your task a little easier. You don’t have to wonder about what to do—there are some key factors you’ll need information on, and after that, you can make your final decision.

Finding the right pre-owned truck is easy when you know what to look for. That’s why we created this helpful guide so that you can get the info you need to find the used truck that will work best for you. Whether you’re looking for a midsize truck to enhance your small business or you’re thinking about getting a full-size truck to pull your camper or trailer, there are a variety of options to consider.

Below, you’ll also find recommendations for the types of trucks people tend to find the most reliable when buying used. If you still need some guidance finding the perfect fit, visit us at Roanoke Ford, and we’ll work tirelessly to find you a great used pickup that matches your needs and budget.

Things to Consider When Purchasing a Used Truck

Price isn’t the only thing to consider when you purchase a used truck. While it is an important aspect depending on your budget, some things will make this purchase a worthy investment or a mistake. A good purchase means your truck has plenty of life and years left in it and will serve you well.

That’s the main goal of buying a used or new vehicle. First, you’ll want to check the model year. Is it relatively newer or older? This doesn’t mean one is necessarily better than the other—just be aware of the changes made from model year to model year.

Another thing to consider is mileage—is it high or low? What about its history—has it ever been in an accident? You may also want to ask about service records—was it properly maintained? This will help you narrow down your options so that you’re more likely to get a truck that meets your needs.

Practical things like hauling and towing power, seating arrangements, and fuel efficiency should all be considered as well, particularly if you’ve got a specific job you need a truck for. This should give you a good foundation from which to begin shopping for your used truck. Of course, when you come into Roanoke Ford, our team will be happy to walk you through all of our options and ensure you find the perfect match.

Agile Compact Trucks

If you’re thinking about getting a smaller truck that can still haul and tow while providing you with more fuel efficiency than a bigger truck, the Ford Maverick is a great choice. The Maverick offers a hybrid engine option in recent models, which means big fuel savings. You’ll be able to drive it anywhere you need to go, even if you’re looking to go off-road. Despite its diminutive size, the Maverick provides drivers and passengers with a spacious, comfortable cabin that allows for room to stretch out as well as space to hold everyone’s necessities like drinks, snacks, and phone chargers.

Another option in the small truck market is the Hyundai Santa Cruz, a unique compact truck labeled by the brand as a “Sport Adventure Vehicle,” offering a model that takes design cues from both a pickup and SUV. The Santa Cruz may be a small truck, but that doesn’t mean you can’t depend on it for big stuff like hauling and towing. It comes with a host of helpful features and has a big truck attitude, though you’ll find it much easier to park than a larger truck. No matter your needs, these compact trucks offer the perfect blend of maneuverability, efficiency, and power.

Modern Midsize Options

When people look for a used truck, many look for a midsize model that can haul and tow more than the average compact truck but still keeps some of that fuel efficiency. The Toyota Tacoma is one such truck and remains popular with drivers who opt for a pre-owned model.

The Tacoma is considered a midsize truck, perfect for larger chores like hauling or towing DIY materials for your latest house project, or holding work equipment and tools for your day job. It can also tow larger items like a variety of trailers and campers, which means you aren’t as limited when it comes to the size or type of your trailer or camper.

Another popular option among used truck buyers is the Ford Ranger, which comes in many configurations, which means it’s perfect as a professional work truck, a family truck, or a recreational truck. There are some options when it comes to truck bed options as well, so be sure you know which one will work best for the tasks you have in mind. The Ranger is powerful, equipped with a range of helpful safety and tech features, and will become your new favorite vehicle.

Hefty Full-Size Models

The Chevy Silverado 1500 is known worldwide for its capabilities, raw power, and longevity. People use it for all sorts of tasks, whether on ranches, farms, neighborhoods, off-road, or even in the big city. The Silverado is popular because it has a lot to offer, like major towing power and a comfortable cabin with plenty of comfort and convenience features. If you’re looking for something that’s well-balanced with just enough of everything you could want on a drive, then it’s time to start looking for a used Chevy Silverado 1500. You’ll love how easy it is to drive and how much you can do with it.

And, of course, the Ford F-150 is another excellent choice. Ford’s trucks have remained popular over the years because of their reputation for high quality. The F-150 is no exception and enjoys a place at the top of many pickup enthusiasts’ lists regarding dependability, versatility, safety, and power. It is ready to go wherever you want to have your next adventure, whether it’s urban nightlife, the wild outdoors, or tackling that DIY project at home.

When looking for a new car, you want one that is tough enough to weather the many years ahead. However, getting a reliable vehicle doesn’t have to break the bank. While car-buying is a big choice—and often a costly one—you can save money by looking into used vehicles. With that one simple decision, you’ll decrease a lot of your financial stress. But with all the cars out there, how do you choose which used vehicle to buy?

Given the average person’s very busy life, the perfect way to balance reliability and cost is by looking into a car brand with a century-long legacy of excellence. Now, when you want that for yourself, few vehicles are quite like a Ford. Whether you’re navigating weekday traffic or heading into Chicago for the weekend, you need a car that isn’t going to break down on the side of the highway and leave you stranded. After all, no one wants to be stuck on the side of I-74. Or, even when the worst does happen, you want a dedicated team that makes it easy to fix up your car. If that sounds like exactly what you need, it’s time to visit your trusted used Ford dealer near Peoria, Roanoke Ford.

Centuries of Ford Tough

Before you commit to a vehicle, of course, you want to take an honest look at a brand or a model’s history, reliability, and benefits. You don’t want to head to the dealership without feeling informed and prepared. Luckily, discovering the benefits of a Ford is easy to do. For over 120 years, Ford has been a leader in the car business. Their company gave birth to the automobile, and ever since, their vehicles have given drivers high quality and reliability. As of 2025, their most beloved models include the likes of the F-150, Mustang, and Escape—cars inspired by both Ford’s iconic roots and their dedication to modern tech and automotive power. This makes these cars fantastic for the average American, making space for all the hauling, adventuring, and commuting you do in your day-to-day life. Ford didn’t just kickstart the car industry; it’s moving it forward to get drivers the best vehicles.

Nowadays, the average Ford is fairly reasonably priced, which drivers all over Peoria and beyond love. It’s part of the reason Ford remains one of the leading car brands in America, selling around two million units in 2024. However, beyond a good deal, a Ford vehicle’s main selling point is its sturdiness, dependability, and versatility options. That’s always been a huge focus for this industrious brand. Ford wants to give you the chance to choose what level of comfort you want without sacrificing the value of a strong vehicle. For example, a Ford truck with a luxury trim is just as strong—if not stronger—than its base model counterparts. There’s a reason the Ford F-150 won the 2024 and 2025 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award for trucks. Moreover, this truck can tow over 10,000 lbs and offers a range of high-performance, turbocharged engines. From the pickup beyond, Ford vehicles really live up to that motto of “Built Ford Tough” without having a rough-around-the-edges interior.

Speaking of engines, a Mustang is one of the most popular Ford vehicles because it has been a famous sports car since 1964. These days, the 2025 Mustang is outfitted with turbocharged levels of engine strength and up to 500 horsepower. You can get all the American-made muscle you could ever want.

Whether you want the Escape and its compact SUV versatility, the passenger space and adventure of the full-size Expedition, the off-roading capability of the Bronco, or the efficiency and maneuverability of a sedan with a pre-owned Fusion, you can feel sure any used Ford you buy has the force to get you wherever you need to go.

Roughing The Roads: Ford Maintenance and Upkeep

As far as being a dependable vehicle, Ford has a history of hitting top marks in reliability and safety. After all, at the end of 2024, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave several Ford vehicles a 5-star safety rating; some of these models included the Bronco Sport, Explorer, Escape, and F-150. So, Ford has a clear dedication to keeping up with the kind of tech and machinery that keeps you cared for on and off the road.

And even when accidents do happen, one of the major plus sides of a Ford is how easy their parts are to fix or replace. These vehicles are specifically constructed to be simple to repair and maintain, meaning that no matter what breaks, any dedicated Ford service center can get you repaired in a jiffy. No matter the situation, Ford will make sure you get back on the roads in tip-top shape as quickly as possible.

Ford has also upped their security and tech game by adding the FordPass feature to all their 2020 and newer vehicles, which is an app that lets you remotely control and monitor your car. This means that no matter the situation and no matter where you are, you can hit the AC or easily track down your car in a crowded parking lot. A Ford is made to be tough, but also the kind of comfortable that gives you both cozy seats and peace of mind.

The Pre-Owned Advantage

As we talked about, though, a Ford isn’t just about the latest, fresh-off-the-line perks. Ford is all about legacy. So, you’ll be pleased to learn just how valuable buying a used Ford can be. Historically, the average used car saves you several thousand dollars compared to new automobiles. Apply that to a Ford and you’re getting amazing value. You could get the power of a high-end Ford truck (say an F-150) for less than the price of a new compact SUV (take a Honda CR-V)—a used 2020 F-150 usually costs around $28,000, whereas the 2025 CR-V will run you $30,000 at least. You get all the toughness, storage, and space you could want for less. Both vehicles are great, but if you need a solid commuter car and a truck with towing power in one, you can’t beat that.

Moreover, if you eventually want to sell a Ford yourself, these cars retain amazing reliability and resale value. In fact, in 2024, Kelley Blue Book named the Ford Bronco the #1 car in resale value. So, not only will you save by buying a used Ford, but when you go to trade it in, you still get a lot of worth out of it yourself. Used cars have become a huge market full of options, helping Peoria drivers avoid hidden fees or simply reduce fees entirely, and they are all very well-inspected. It’s hard to beat that kind of transparency, simplicity, and affordability, and buying a used Ford only makes those deals all the more valuable.

Let Ford Go The Extra Mile

A Ford vehicle is built to weather wherever the roads will take you, offering great power, reliability, and long-term value to make you feel taken care of yesterday, today, and every day forward. Whether you’re shopping for the versatility and city-friendliness of the Maverick or prefer the raw passenger power of the Expedition, a Ford will get you where you need to go. Commuters, parents, adventurers, professionals—there’s a Ford for everyone. Head to your Roanoke Ford and chat with our experts about how you can join this legacy of automotive excellence. With the right people, you will have a reliable vehicle built Ford Tough for many years to come.

A blue 2025 Ford Bronco Raptor off-roading on a rocky trail.

At this point, most drivers are familiar with the Ford Bronco. It was associated with the ultimate in off-road journeys when it first debuted in 1966, and the brand’s 2020 relaunch proved that the Bronco spirit would last forever. With its G.O.A.T. modes (Goes Over Any Terrain) and HOSS Suspension Systems, it’s clear that the Bronco is one of the most capable vehicles on and off the road today. What drivers may not know, even those actively looking for a Ford Bronco for sale, is that it is also one of the most customizable vehicles on the market.

The 2025 Ford Bronco lineup includes seven standard models, each with its own distinct driving personality and approach to off-roading. Each model offers its own set of options, from additional packages to accessories that make it even more livable for daily drivers. Let’s look at the 2025 Ford Bronco models and their options to see which best fits your adventurous driving spirit.

A Brief Overview

Ford has made a few changes to the Bronco lineup for the 2025 model year. The Base trim, which was discontinued for 2024, has returned, and an off-road racing Stroppe Special Edition has joined the lineup. The Black Diamond, Wildtrak, and Everglades trims have been discontinued, but the Black Diamond name resurfaces as an optional package that we’ll discuss in more detail momentarily. Therefore, the official 2025 Ford Bronco lineup includes the Base, Big Bend, Heritage Edition, Outer Banks, Badlands, Stroppe Edition, and the unparalleled Bronco Raptor model.

Like its ancestors, the 2025 Bronco is offered in two- and four-door configurations, depending on the model selected. The Stroppe Edition is offered as a two-door model only, while the Base and Badlands models are offered with your choice of two or four doors. The rest of the lineup is offered exclusively with four doors. The standard outfit for two-door models is a removable hard top, while four-door models wear a foldable soft top that accommodates a variety of positions.

Here’s where the customization begins. If you want a body-color hard top or a different-colored hard top, just ask. Perhaps you want a soft canvas top or a retractable twill top. Would you like tube door replacements for when you drive with the doors off? Which of the spare tire covers best matches your overall color palette? Let’s take a look at what you start with and what you can get for each model.

Base Trim

The Base trim is anything but basic, offering a grand array of standard features. That includes the high-strength HOSS 1.0 Suspension System, which is specially tuned for higher speeds and less challenging articulation, and a part-time selectable 4×4 system. With its 300 hp 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine, the Base model is ready whenever you are.

But what if you want a little more? Consider the Sasquatch package, which is optional on the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands models as well. It’s standard on the Heritage and Stroppe Editions. The Sasquatch Package includes Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, electronic-locking front and rear differentials, an advanced 4×4 system with automatic on-demand engagement, and a suspension system tuned for higher clearance. A Base model with the Sasquatch package is an affordable yet capable off-road Bronco.

Side view of a multi-colored 2025 Ford Bronco Big Bend Free Wheeling driving on sand dunes.

Big Bend

Though the Big Bend model is offered as a four-door only, drivers do have the choice of the seven-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission. The Black Diamond name reappears here as an optional package. Adding the advanced 4×4 system, full vehicle steel bash plates, rock rails, washout-capable rubberized flooring, and an open front differential paired with an electronic-locking rear axle, models equipped with this package are prepared for when the going gets rough.

For those looking for a more unique appearance, the Free Wheeling Package adds the vintage sunset-inspired ombre reflective stripes to your Bronco Big Bend, while the Black Appearance Package coordinates the exterior to the same shade of chic black.

Heritage Edition

If “unique” is your thing, the Heritage Edition provides drivers with plenty of ways to express their individuality. With the Sasquatch Package already loaded as standard equipment, drivers can personalize this model with a more powerful 330-hp 2.7L EcoBoost V6 Engine and plenty of style.

Bronco Heritage Edition models include some vintage paint options, such as a pale Robin’s Egg Blue, along with an exclusive Oxford White hard top. You can still elect for the optional twill or canvas soft tops under the hard top, of course. Inside, Heritage Edition models wear an exclusive plaid upholstery that’s subtle yet funky.

Outer Banks

Stepping up to the Outer Banks trim unlocks a new array of exterior paint choices, including the opportunity to add a matte film to your Bronco, which gives it a stealthier appearance. You’ll also have your choice of marine-grade vinyl or leather-trimmed seats to round out your vision.

As with the Heritage Edition, drivers can choose between the 2.3L and 2.7L engine options. At this level, the Lux Package also becomes available, adding a 360-degree exterior camera, adaptive cruise control, and a 12-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system to the Bronco Outer Banks.

Side view of the front cabin of a 2025 Ford Bronco for sale.

Badlands

Standard features for this trim include power-adjustable heated seats, an automatic dimming rearview mirror, a heated steering wheel, and auxiliary switches for external equipment. You can also add a 360-degree exterior camera, adaptive cruise control, and a 12-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system to your Badlands Bronco.

This is also where things get interesting for off-road drivers. The Badlands model includes a HOSS 2.0 Suspension system, which includes passive damping, twin-forged alloy A-arms, specifically tuned dampers, and an independent front suspension. This is also where the G.O.A.T. drive modes change. While the Base, Big Bend, Heritage, and Outer Banks models include Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand modes. The Badlands, Stroppe Edition, and Raptor drop the Sport mode and add Mud/Ruts, Baja, and Rock Crawl modes to help you overcome some serious terrain.

Stroppe Edition

Named after the famous Baja 1000 driver who took his Broncos all the way, the Stroppe Edition has more of everything. The more powerful engine, the Sasquatch Package, and even the 12-speaker audio system are standard here. The HOSS 3.0 Package is also standard, which includes a heavy-duty steering rack, FOX Live Valve 3.1 internal bypass semi-active dampers, and a rear stabilizer bar. A front stabilizer bar that disconnects at the push of a button is optional.

Raptor

This model is named the most powerful off-roader in the Bronco family for a reason. With its 3.0L V6 engine offering a very peppy 418 hp and custom full-vehicle heavy-duty bash plates, the Raptor seems pretty unstoppable. The HOSS 4.0 Suspension System is something of a legend in off-roading. Its real-time suspension telemetry and uniquely designed components smooth out even the rockiest roads. While the Raptor may seem to offer everything you could possibly want in an off-roading SUV, there are still options to be had, like the slide-out tailgate or tailgate table. Who doesn’t want a mid-trail snack?

Selecting the Right 2025 Ford Bronco for You

One of the things we love most about the Ford lineup these days is just how many different options there are for folks who want a truck. From the compact Ford Maverick to the midsize Ranger, drivers have plenty of options before even getting to the F-Series of full-size models. Of course, if you’re looking for a truck that can get some serious work done, then you’re likely interested in a Super Duty model designed to handle anything you throw at it. When customers come to us looking for a Ford F-250 for sale, they’re often surprised to discover how many options they still have available to them. So today, we’re going to take you through what’s offered for the 2025 F-250 to help you get a better sense of what you want from your next truck, so things are even easier when you come visit us to find the pickup you need.

Four Configuration Options to Choose From

Although a lot of people like to dive right in by checking out engines and the kind of power they offer, we think the best place to start is with the big picture: the cab and bed size for your truck. This is our approach in general since we can start with a huge range of options and go with the widest stuff first, narrowing things down to get the truck you need. You might expect that Ford just makes one or two configurations available for the F-250, but you actually have four different setups available between three different cab sizes and two bed lengths—though only one cab is offered with both beds. This keeps things fairly simple while still giving you the freedom to get the kind of truck you’re looking for.

To start with, you have three different cab sizes to choose from, and this is one of the most important decisions to consider when putting together your next truck. There’s a Regular Cab that has a single row of seating, making it a good choice if you only ever need one or two people with you in your work truck. If you need to have more passengers along or simply prefer more room inside your cabin, then there’s a Super Cab that adds a second row. Finally, a Crew Cab is available that provides a more spacious back row to give your passengers even more room. Keep in mind that the Regular Cab has about 10 cu.ft. of space behind the front seat, while the Super Cab has 30 cu.ft. and the Crew Cab has 53 cu.ft. of space for cargo behind your seat.

If you choose a Regular Cab or Super Cab, then it comes with an eight-foot bed, giving you over 78 cu.ft. of total cargo volume. This bed measures about 98 inches in length at the floor and 50 inches in width between the wheelhouses—or nearly 67 inches in maximum width. Choosing the Crew Cab lets you pick between this eight-foot bed and a shorter 6.75-foot bed. The shorter one gives you about 65 cu.ft. of cargo volume inside and measures just under 82 inches in length at the floor—it’s the same width between the wheelhouses. You can’t go wrong with any of these options; it just comes down to what you need and want from your truck.

Four Engines for Incredible Power and Capabilities

It’s undeniable that the engine is an important aspect of any vehicle, but you could argue that it’s at its most important when you’re looking at a powerful truck like this. Ford understands that very well, of course, which is why you’ll find four different, incredible engines offered for the 2025 Ford F-250. This lets you choose the kind of power and performance you’re looking for, plus you can get different types of capabilities from each of them. You should definitely take some time to consider the performance you want from your truck before picking the engine that’s right for you, which we’re happy to help with.

To start with, you have two different gas engines to choose from, making it easy to get the kind of power you want. Standard is a 6.8L V8 engine that provides 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque, which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission (all of these engines are). For more power, there’s a 7.3L V8 available that delivers 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque—not a huge increase, but still noteworthy. You can choose a 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 engine that provides 475 hp and an incredible 1,050 lb-ft of torque if you need even more power. And for the most incredible capability possible, there’s a High Output (HO) version of this diesel engine that delivers 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque.

In terms of capability, these engines offer:

  • 6.8L V8 – 14,800 lbs towing; 4,240 lbs payload
  • 7.3L V8 – 17,200 lbs towing; 4,246 lbs payload
  • 6.7L Diesel – 22,900 lbs towing; 4,048 lbs payload
  • 6.7L HO Diesel – 23,000 lbs towing; 3,918 lbs payload

You can see that the Ford F-250 can handle a lot of weight, no matter which engine you choose. The HO diesel is the way to go for the highest towing capacity possible, though it’s only slightly more than the standard diesel; both of them far surpass what the gas engines can do. Ultimately, the right engine depends entirely on what you need your truck to be able to handle. That’s why it’s so important that you consider your towing and payload requirements and what you tend to do with your pickup, and then you can choose accordingly.

Five Different Trim Levels for the 2025 Ford F-250

One of the biggest surprises for our customers interested in the F-250 is the fact that Ford offers five different trims for it. Most people expect a few options, at most, for a powerful truck like this, but Ford gives you plenty to choose from. We don’t have the time to take a deep dive into each of these, so we’ll just hit some highlights so you can get a sense of what each has to offer. The starting XL model includes a wide range of great standard features, including the 6.8L V8 gas engine, 17-inch wheels, and available retractable side steps and tailgate steps to make it easier to access things in the bed. You get an eight-inch Infotainment system in the XL model, along with a 4.2-inch productivity screen and basic vinyl seating.

Moving up to the XLT model, you get 18-inch wheels for a bolder stance, an integrated Trailer Brake Controller, and cloth seating inside with an eight-way power driver’s seat. The Lariat trim is a great choice if you want an upgraded interior without going overboard; it includes a large 12-inch SYNC 4 Infotainment system, a 12-inch productivity screen, and dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control along with an eight-speaker B&O sound system. The King Ranch is even nicer inside and out with a power tailgate that includes a retractable step, an exclusive Kingsville Antique leather interior with heated and ventilated front seats, and a 14-speaker B&O Unleashed sound system. Finally, the Platinum adds power-deployable running boards along the sides, a head-up display, and comes with massive 20-inch wheels.

Daily commuting requires a solid vehicle. While some drivers may be able to get by with something that’s not quite up to par, anybody with a significant daily commute knows that a good vehicle is worth the investment. You need something that will serve you for the long term without any issues, preferably something that doesn’t drain your wallet with gas bills. And since you’ll be spending so much time in the car, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have some nice design and technology features to make the rides more enjoyable. But, the most important, non-negotiable factor is reliability. If your vehicle isn’t reliable, it’s not worth your time or money. Ford has worked hard to make its brand name synonymous with reliability. Ford’s vehicles are known for being sturdy, dependable, and luxurious; with several hybrid and even all-electric options, they have highly efficient vehicles as well. If you’re looking for a Ford dealer near Peoria to find your next daily driver, these are some of Ford’s best commuter vehicles to look out for. There’s an argument to be made that any one of Ford’s vehicles could be a good commuter vehicle, but there are three in particular that we think fit the bill in a special way.
